BEFORE THE CRASH

ON THE ISLAND

  • Was thought to have Shannon's asthma medicine, which he did not
  • Stubbornly allowed Sayid to torture him for information
  • Reveals he can pick locks, but doesnt seem all that expert
  • In Kate's words, he "wants to be hated" (i.e., he is filled with self-loathing over what he has become - a con man)
  • Is the second member in his group to hear the whispers (see Sayid, Shannon, Charlie)
  • Carries on a hot and heavy flirtation with Kate
  • Bought his way onto raft with hoarded supplies
  • Before leaving on the raft tells Jack about his encounter with Jack's father
  • Reads the notes in the bottle while on the raft.

  • Recovers remarkably quickly from his gunshot wound. According to the Timeline, he was shot on Day 44 and is near death from infection when he reaches Jack on Day 48. 15 days later, in “Dave”, he appears fully healed from the wound.
  • Hurley attacked him after he played a joke on him about his mental condition and was saved by Jin. He calls Hurley "crazy" while he walks off.
  • In S.O.S. appears to be building a hut to replace the tent trashed in his fight with Hurley.
