Cindy Chandler was a flight attendant who was aboard Oceanic Flight 815 flying from Sydney, Australia to Los Angeles, California.

Life Before Flight 815Edit

Before the crash of Oceanic Flight 815, Cindy was employed as a flight attendant by Oceanic Airlines. She was apparently romantically involved with author Gary Troup, who was aboard Oceanic Flight 815 with her. Gary dedicated his novel Bad Twin to Cindy. (Bad Twin)

During Flight 815, Cindy chatted with Jack about how his drink was; after he says it wasn’t very strong, she hands him two extra bottles and the two joke about it being against FAA regulations. When she left Jack, she went to see a jittery Charlie who was nervously tapping his ring on the arm rest of his seat, she questioned him as to what was wrong, and if he would request a water, he insisted he was fine, and she walked to the back of the plane. (Pilot - Part 1)

While at the back of the plane, Cindy chatted with her fellow flight attendants and noticed Charlie looking back. When Charlie made a bolt for the front of the plane, Cindy and another flight attendant proceeded to follow him. When turbulence began to hit, Cindy notified everyone that the captain had switched on the fasten seatbelt signs and for them to return to their seats. When Cindy arrived at the front of the plane to confront Charlie, the plane began to go down. (Pilot - Part 2)

On-Island LifeEdit

Season One (Days 1-44)Edit

When Oceanic Flight 815 crashed into the ocean, Cindy was among the tail-section survivors. As she swam to shore, she joined what would be other survivors of the flight. When things on the beach calmed down, Cindy was approached by Mr. Eko who requested that she watch over Emma and Zack, who were two of the children who were on the plane, she agreed and she stayed with them while Mr. Eko dragged the dead bodies out of the water. As the first night drew to a close, sounds of a struggle were heard around the corner, Cindy and Libby waited with the children as Ana-Lucia and Goodwin discover a bloody Eko and two dead men lying in the sand. When the camp becomes restless after 3 of their group go missing, Ana-Lucia questions the use of the signal fire when they have satellites and the black box to aid the rescue teams. Cindy interjects and informs the group that the pilot informed her that before the crash they lost communications and they were heading back, and that the rescue teams do not know where to look. (The Other 48 Days)

On Day 12, when the “Others” attack a second time, Cindy is one of the 7 left in the group, and a decision is made for the group to leave the beach. On Day 19, As the group begins to get restless, Ana-Lucia takes it upon herself to build a pit, and imprison Nathan who was suspected of not being on the plane, Cindy validated this by claiming that she was usually good with remembering the passengers' faces and that she did not see him on the plane. On Day 24, Cindy informs the group that Nathan has gone missing; Ana-Lucia says that it is time to move and that they’ve found them. On Day 27, the group comes upon a bunker containing a variant of the DHARMA logo on the inside; found inside was a radio that Bernard would later use on Day 41 to make contact. When a voice is heard through the radio, Cindy, Libby, and Bernard excitedly crowd around but before anything real can be shared, Ana-Lucia turns off the radio claiming it was “them”, trying to draw them out. (The Other 48 Days)

Season Two (Days 44-67)Edit

When Day 45 hits, Cindy and Libby are on the beach when they come across an unconscious Jin lying in the water. When it’s discovered he doesn’t speak English and poses no real threat, Cindy and the others plead with Ana-Lucia to let him go, but before any real conversation can occur, Jin escapes to see Michael and Sawyer washed up on the beach where they quickly untie him. As Cindy, Libby, Ana-Lucia, and Bernard look on, Mr. Eko takes action and attacks Jin, Michael and Sawyer with his staff. (The Other 48 Days)

When the three are apprehended they are taken in the nets Cindy and Libby were making and are thrown into the pit that Ana-Lucia created. When it's discovered that they are also survivors of Flight 815, they are brought back to the bunker where Cindy and Bernard are. When the Tail Section survivors realize that they have it better on the other side of the island, they begin to walk across the island in a desperate attempt to reunite with their fellow survivors. When they leave the bunker, Cindy joins Mr. Eko to scout before they leave. When Ana-Lucia, Bernard and Jin return from catching fish, Cindy joins them in the sorting and cleaning of the fish when suddenly Libby returns and informs the group that Michael has taken off. As day turns to night, Cindy and the remaining of the group are resting while they wait for Eko, Jin and Michael to return; when they do Eko informs the group that he saw “them”, Cindy and the rest of the group begins to leave. As, they push on towards the Mid-Section’s camp, Sawyer falls ill, and a stretcher is made to carry him, when they reach a very steep hill, the group works together to carry him up to the top. When they reach the top, Cindy is gone. (The Other 48 Days)

Season Three (Days 68-91)Edit

It was not until weeks later that she was seen again, after Jack was captured by the Others, and performed surgery on Ben, Cindy and the other Tail Section survivors who were kidnapped were standing outside Jack's cage. Cindy approached and he demanded to know why she and the rest were outside. Cindy stated quite simply that they were "there to watch". Jack became enraged and demanded that if they've got something to watch, that they go watch it. (Stranger in a Strange Land)

After Locke joined the camp among "The Others", Cindy was helped by Locke in setting up her shelter. Cindy then revealed that many among the camp were excited that he was there. (The Brig)
