Another suggestion

How about adding a link on the main page for discussion about The Others. We're starting to learn a lot more about them.

Statement about the ads on this site

Hello! Very nice site. I love the idea of helping you building up a wiki about LOST.

But the thing which really disturbes me is the advertisment on this homepage, which contradicts the idea of a wiki! Where does it come from? Who earns money by showing these ads? I only think that it would be fair to point out that to all the people contibuting here. Bye --80.131.246.106 15:27, 11 November 2005 (PST)

Well, the ad is really just a test at this point. I added it to help offset the costs of running this site. I would be willing to try a donation based model. Do you think people would contribute? --Admin 10:35, 13 November 2005 (PST)

Relevant Literary Works

How about adding the following bullet point to the "Interesting Themes" section -- ·Appearance of Literary Works --BrianSTL 10:04, 2 November 2005 (PST)

Spammer

What does internet telephony and that long list of links, most of which have nothing to do with internet telephony, have do do with the LOSTpedia? Is this just an advertisement in disguise? --65.64.147.253 11:03, 16 November 2005 (PST)

Yes, It was a spammer. I've blocked his network and removed the ads. --Admin 14:26, 16 November 2005 (PST)

BLOCKED HIM AGAIN. Sorry about that. --Admin 02:22, 20 November 2005 (PST)

Anagrams

We know from the ABC site that Ethan Rom is an anagram of "Other Man".

On this LOSTpedia page (Dr. Marvin Candle), it is asserted that Doctor Marvin Candle is an anagram of "Montand Liar Cover".

Also, Alvar Hanso = Sharon Alva = Lars Navaho

Are any other character names anagrams? Ethan Rom was one of "the Others"... will all of those who are "the others" have names that are anagrams? Is Dr. Marvin Candle one of the others?

Would "anagram-able names" be a valid "interesting theme"?

Somebody smarter than me crack this site please

http://thedharmainitiative.org/login.html how do you crack this code?

Typo

It's NOT Kate Austin, it's supposed to be "Kate Austen" instead. Make note of that. — 24.15.6.252 18:59, 30 November 2005 (PST)

LOST Links

I've been searching answers about LOST over the past few weeks and my researches led me to several interresting sites, i'll make a list of them here because sometimes i found more info on them and i think everything should be here... (i also think that wikipedia isn't the right place to create so much pages on a FICTION)

These 3 sites needs attention as they seems to be the cleaner i found, you should make contact with them maybe to regroup or connect the databases . ??

besides i question myself about the verracity of some other lost sites such as:

I checked the Source code and whois record, all seems different or hidden, some people claim it's fan-created.

these two are officials

we should put order into that

ToMA ToMA@ToMA.be (not user yet)

  • http://www.thehansofoundation.org/ is almost certainly an official site since the whois record shows "Registrant Name:ABC, Inc." and it links to disney.com Terms of Use, just as oceanicflight815.com does.
  • http://www.oceanic-air.com/ is (c) 2005 TouchStone Television and links to Terms of Use on the disney.com site and so is also almost certainly official.

I think that if it is doubtful whether a site is official or not (I've seen the terms 'canon'/'non-canon' used) it should be pointed out at the top of the individual page, e.g. dharmainitiative.com.
