Thanks for your help removing the spam links! It's really frustrating. --Admin 23:00, 18 December 2005 (PST)

You've been promoted to SysOp!

Hi GodEmperorOfHell,

Thanks for doing so much work around here! I've promoted you to sysop. You'll have the more rights when it comes to banning abusive users and editing protected pages.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks again! --Admin 00:31, 28 January 2006 (PST)

FYI -

Thanks for blocking that user "70.68.38.". I went ahead and banned his whole subnet. Whenever I see a sysop block someone I add them to the server's master block list. It helps us deal with idiots like "Bob" ;)

Thanks! --Admin 15:16, 29 January 2006 (PST)

Season Two TOC

How's it looking? Any suggestions? I don't wanna be stepping on anyone's toes, just let me know what kinda stuff needs cleaned up, and I'll do what I can. Thunderbird 18:44, 4 February 2006 (PST)

Hmmm... It seems you guys have just been cutting and pasting the entries for the episodes straight from Wikipedia. That should really be cleaned up a bit. What I'd like to try is maybe a "Episode at a glance" section at the top of each main article, with the main happenings/mysteries solved/mysteries opened in bullet point form, and then a paragraph or two condenced synopsis on the episode. Then at the bottom a link to the Wikipedia entry, or something. I'll leave it with you for a while, and I'll check back in later. Thunderbird 19:00, 4 February 2006 (PST)

Formatting

I didn't know anything before going to the HRWiki, everything I've learned about MediaWiki has been from a few of the guys there. The admins there are really brilliant, they're all computer programmers and whatnot. They did most of the formatting there, and I just copied all the tricks from them. I'm not gonna be on for the rest of today, but I'll try and swing by tomorrow to figure out some of the formatting for the seasons. I'm thinking it'd be kinda handy to set up at the bottom of the episodes point form sections like this:

(Sample for "What Kate Did"

Questions

Questions Answered

  • Kate was a fugitive for killing her Father.

Questions Expanded

  • Using the computer to contact the outside world started the "incident" at the Hatch.

Questions Started

  • What's with the black horse?
  • Is Walt really talking from the other side of the computer, and where is it?

That's just a rough sketch, what do you think? Thunderbird 16:48, 6 February 2006 (PST)

It's great! It will distance us a big deal from the Wikipedia entries and it will give us identity! as you see, i copied a trick from you and tweaked it up a bit. hope you don'tmind ;) Well, too busy here in the desert of the real. hope I can help with the mammoth project of redesigning the whole thing. †††GodEmperorOfHell††† 18:11, 6 February 2006 (PST)~~

Nice work with the news!

I love that the front page gets updated daily. It really makes the site more interesting! Thanks again for all your efforts. --Admin 23:47, 7 February 2006 (PST)

Nice work with Timeline

Great additions to the Timeline page - it's a lot more fleshed out now! --Joseph 20:22, 20 February 2006 (PST)

Redo your deletion

of the Delta Park hahaha page. I was editing it to point it out to admins. My save came 1sec after your deletion.    Jabberwock    talk    contribs    email   - 20:15, 1 March 2006 (PST)

Stubs

Hi. Sorry for missing out categorizing and stubbing my new articles. But I got a question. While some of the articles are really short (thus "stub"), they do not really need expansion at the moment - why is a stub at the same time displaying a note on "please help us...". It distracts me. Like Psalm 144 - it's just displaying the Psalm, but since it had only a marginal appearance in the show, there is not more to say to it, is it?

Blocks, Vandalism and reverts

Hi.

Just want to encourage the Admins/Sysops again to force a registration with validation of email adress for people who want to edit articles (For talk/discussion, it's ok to be unregistered). It would prevent a lot of this spamming. Blocks are 99% useless, I think, since many people use dynamic IPs. They help only if someone is active at that moment.

Also I'd like to ask, if there is a simple revert function (like there is one for images). Something where you just say "revert to last version" and it's done. Maybe I'm just to blind to see it...

--aurora glacialis 12:52, 5 March 2006 (PST)

I have read somewhere ([1]) in the discussions about a link to change wiki to accept edits to articles only from reg. users, while still allowing everyone to edit discussions.... --aurora glacialis 06:11, 6 March 2006 (PST)

Re: Vandal:220.238.84.188

Sure! But I'm not sure what the commentary field is? The summary field? :-) --Jambalaya 03:40, 9 March 2006 (PST)

fnord

any friend of stang's is a friend of mine :)

this Bob-thingy is getting ridiculous

Is there no way to prevent this. He took down about 40-60 pages today and most are still out right now. I think the Admins should require registration with a valid email adress before someone can edit articles. Maybe also blacklist email providers that are known to be too easy to give out new email adresses. Or maybe there is a function to prevent long articles to be shortened to only 2 lines ? This would at least stop some of the destructive Vandalism... I don't know enought about Wiki, but this "Bob" is really ridiculous. --aurora glacialis 11:24, 11 March 2006 (PST)

In addition to blocking Bobble Bath, all of his edits need to be reverted. List of Bobble Bath's Changes
Jabberwock    talk    contribs    email   - 11:32, 11 March 2006 (PST)

Yes - and also the cahnges "Bob " made before calling himself that... It's a lot. Can only be done by an Admin, who can easily revert changes, otherwise it's the work of an hour... --aurora glacialis 11:36, 11 March 2006 (PST)

Is white listing possible? Big enough ip mask and if it creates problems for 'legitimate users', white list them. Might be easier. --skks 08:55, 12 March 2006 (PST)

If there's a pattern in the IP-adresses that Bob use, block the whole subnet for some time.. --Jambalaya 07:02, 13 March 2006 (PST)
